From Joe: Thanks everyone for your prayers, I am still really rattled. The state troopers told me that I was lucky to be alive, and the doctor said said that I had someone from above sitting in the cab with me. Going down I-45 to Houston, cruise control at 65-70, 5 in the morning, rocking out to old school Pat Green and playing drums on the steering wheel... Came over a hill and there were 6 900 lb. cows in the middle of I-45. Police said that if I were in a car (like the Charger I just traded in) I wouldn't have made it. When I hit, it was such a jolt that I didn't remember where I was, when I got out of the only 1 ft opening that I could get to, I realized that I was covered in blood but I didn't know if it was mine or one of the cows. I called my wonderful wife and a truck driver by the name of J.T. came to my rescue. he had already called 911 and hestayed with me until the police arrived. Once the sun started to come up, we saw that I had hit 3 of the cows and killed them. The brand new truck was asolutely demolished and by the looks of it, no-one shouldve walked away from it. Some how I did. I had to have a cat scan, ton of x-rays and a couple of hours in the hospital and walked out with a 1st degree burn on my left hand, a concussion, and multiple glass scrapes and bruises. I am so thankful, for my wife, her parents, all the prayers from my family and friends, the Texas State Trooper who helped me, Ford for making an amazingly safe truck and God most of all for watching over me and putting me in a truck a week ago that would withstand 3000 lbs of beef and hooves and for allowing me to walk away from what could have been a catastrophic event, and saving me. I am not lucky, I am truly blessed.
