Joe's Wreck

From Joe: Thanks everyone for your prayers, I am still really rattled. The state troopers told me that I was lucky to be alive, and the doctor said said that I had someone from above sitting in the cab with me. Going down I-45 to Houston, cruise control at 65-70, 5 in the morning, rocking out to old school Pat Green and playing drums on the steering wheel... Came over a hill and there were 6 900 lb. cows in the middle of I-45. Police said that if I were in a car (like the Charger I just traded in) I wouldn't have made it. When I hit, it was such a jolt that I didn't remember where I was, when I got out of the only 1 ft opening that I could get to, I realized that I was covered in blood but I didn't know if it was mine or one of the cows. I called my wonderful wife and a truck driver by the name of J.T. came to my rescue. he had already called 911 and hestayed with me until the police arrived. Once the sun started to come up, we saw that I had hit 3 of the cows and killed them. The brand new truck was asolutely demolished and by the looks of it, no-one shouldve walked away from it. Some how I did. I had to have a cat scan, ton of x-rays and a couple of hours in the hospital and walked out with a 1st degree burn on my left hand, a concussion, and multiple glass scrapes and bruises. I am so thankful, for my wife, her parents, all the prayers from my family and friends, the Texas State Trooper who helped me, Ford for making an amazingly safe truck and God most of all for watching over me and putting me in a truck a week ago that would withstand 3000 lbs of beef and hooves and for allowing me to walk away from what could have been a catastrophic event, and saving me. I am not lucky, I am truly blessed.

New House!!

Well Joe has put a contract on a new house in Providence Village (Near Denton) and we are so excited to begin our life together there as Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cross! I have someone who is ready to lease my house starting March 1st so hopefully closing will go has planned! The new house is beautiful and backs up to a greenbelt full of beautiful, big trees! It has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a gameroom and a study. We definitely plan on being there for a long time! We love the neighborhood...it reminds us of Wisteria Lane :) Please say a prayer that everything will go as planned...I've attached some pictures and a link to Providence Village's website! http://www.providencetx.com/at_home_sub.htm

Narcolepsy
I recently got my test results back and found out that along with my migraines, hormone problems, and vitamin deficienies, I have Narcolepsy. This can explain why I'm so tired all of the time. The neurologist has put me on a stimulant to help with daytime sleepiness. The vitamin B-12 shots are also helping a lot. Here is some information about narcolepsy that I got off webmd.com:
Narcolepsy
Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder that affects the control of sleep and wakefulness. People with narcolepsy experience excessive daytime sleepiness and intermittent, uncontrollable episodes of falling asleep during the daytime. These sudden sleep attacks may occur during any type of activity at any time of the day.
In a typical sleep cycle, we initially enter the early stages of sleep followed by deeper sleep stages and ultimately (after about 90 minutes) rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. For people suffering from narcolepsy, REM sleep occurs almost immediately in the sleep cycle as well as periodically during the waking hours. It is in REM sleep that we can experience dreams and muscle paralysis which explains some of the symptoms of narcolepsy.
Narcolepsy usually begins between the ages of 15 and 25, but it can become apparent at any age. In many cases, narcolepsy is undiagnosed and, therefore, untreated.
Thanks for your prayers and support...At least I am finding answers....

The Holiday Season...
Well it's that time of year again...the holiday season! I'm so lucky to get to spend it with Joe - he is so good to me :) We put up the Christmas tree this past weekend and put up the Christmas lights outside...we had so much fun!
Our sweet pups!
We also saw our new nephew, Nicolas Cross - yep, Joe's little brother Jimmy had a baby...well his fiance', Bonnie had the baby ;) You know what I mean! Here are some pics...he is sooo cute!

Health Update
Please say a prayer for me....I went to the neurologist for my migraines and dizzy spells and I have to do a daytime and night time sleep study, MRI, EEG, and bloodwork. I really like this Dr. though! Sounds like he really gets me! Finally! He raised my dose for preventing migraines and it is helping so it seems like he might know what he is doing! As for the hormone and vitamin stuff...I am now taking Vitamin B shots since my body wasn't absorbing the vitamins correctly (they still don't know why) Pray that these will work! I took my first one today! I will gladly take shots if they will make me feel better and give me more energy! Also, I have to go back to the hormone Dr. - still having trouble with my hormones - UGH! Please pray for the doctors to have wisdom and get this stuff figured out! Poor Joe - he has been dealing with a fiance' who has been pms'ing for 20 days!!! I don't think he (or I) can take it anymore!!
School Update
School is going great! I love working at Blanton! I work with the most amazing staff...they are so positive! Work is so much fun...I love going everyday :) The kids are great...I definitely love working with the little ones! It is such a joy! Pet Partners is going fantastic...the kids love having Brinkley and Bailey at School. Mack has been training and getting ready as well...he will take his test in December then he will be ready to come to school too! The kids ask me every day - when does Mack get to come school again? So I know they are just as excited as I am! I have a group of 5th grade boys working with him to get him ready and he is SO good with them and vice versa! Check out my school website at www.dentonisd.org/tdoss to find out more about my programs at school :)
Some of you probably remember that I was accepted into TCU to finish my classes for LPC certification this past January. I just need 3 more classes before I can take my test. Well I've contacted my advisor at TCU this week and I'm going to meet with her next week about starting classes again this spring and hopefully finish them in the summer. Let's just hope that they offer them when I need them! I'm really excited about that...honestly, I love going to school and learning :) Also, having my LPC will help me in case I ever want to go into private practice.
Joe and I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Love,
Tiffany
